Front Door Development provides development consulting and technical assistance to support the development of affordable housing, renewable energy, and housing sustainability projects. 

Front Door Development structures and executes development projects in partnership with mission-oriented organizations including Public Housing Authorities, non-profit housing providers, and sustainability focused companies.  Our work includes sourcing and negotiating project financing and tax credit investment, developing financial feasibility models and assessing project feasibility, structuring projects to maximize available resources, making applications for various funding programs and facilitating program compliance, and managing the financing, design and construction of affordable housing, renewable energy, and energy efficiency development projects. Front Door Development was founded in 2020 and is located in Hugo, MN.

Jocelyn Borchardt, President

Jocelyn Borchardt is an experienced developer of housing and renewable energy projects, with a focus on projects that benefit affordable housing residents.  Her skill set includes project feasibility assessment and financial structuring, navigating public and private funding programs, and managing all aspects of the development process. With background as a Public Housing Authority development consultant and technical assistance provider on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, she is experienced in working with Housing Authorities and developing projects within the framework of HUD repositioning programs. Prior to founding Front Door Development, LLC Ms. Borchardt worked as an affordable housing developer for private LIHTC development companies in Madison, WI. 

Ms. Borchardt holds a B.A. in History from Carleton College and an M.B.A in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
